General practitioner Dr. Gabriella Varcoe has cared for pets at Shaker Veterinary Hospital since April 2008. Born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised in Albany, Dr. Varcoe attended Siena College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2000. She continued her education at the Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Her professional interests include acupuncture, rehabilitation, nutrition and dermatology.

When she's not busy with her duties at the hospital, Dr. Varcoe can often be found outside riding BMX bikes, kayaking and hiking. She also enjoys racquetball, photography and listening to music. Dr. Varcoe and her husband, Allan, welcomed a son into their lives in 2009. They also have two dogs, Scooby and Sugar, who keep them busy.
